‏ Philippians 4:8

8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

‏ 1 Peter 2:12-25

12 aKeep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, bthey may see your good deeds and glorify God on cthe day of visitation.

Submission to Authority

13 dBe subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution,
Or  every institution ordained for people
whether it be to the emperor
Or king; also verse 17
as supreme,
14or to governors as sent by him gto punish those who do evil and hto praise those who do good. 15For this is the will of God, ithat by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. 16 jLive as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but kliving as servants
Greek bondservants
of God.
17 mHonor everyone. nLove the brotherhood. oFear God. Honor the emperor.

18 pServants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust.
Or crooked
19For this is a gracious thing, when, rmindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. 20For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But sif when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. 21For tto this you have been called, ubecause Christ also suffered for you, vleaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. 22 wHe committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. 23 xWhen he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, ybut continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. 24 zHe himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we aamight die to sin and ablive to righteousness. acBy his wounds you have been healed. 25For adyou were straying like sheep, but have now returned to aethe Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

‏ 1 Peter 3:8-11

Suffering for Righteousness’ Sake

8Finally, all of you, afhave unity of mind, sympathy, agbrotherly love, aha tender heart, and aia humble mind. 9 ajDo not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, akbless, for alto this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. 10For

am“Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
11let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.
